Popularized by Malcolm Gladwell’s best-selling book in 2000, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference, a tipping point is reached when a trend crosses a threshold and “goes viral”. Tipping Point: The Coronavirus Pandemic

At that point you can’t put the genie back in the bottle so to speak. That is what has happened with the coronavirus becoming pandemic. This global tipping point may be nudging us to adopt a multidimensionally integral, globally cooperative approach to risk management and other issues that affect us all. We may be waiting for things to return to normal. Yet will things ever return to where they were?
Catastrophic events that shake the world also affect our relationship with each other. The question to ask yourself, is, while awaiting things to return to normal, what will never be the same again and how has that affected our lifestyle, our beliefs?
Global risks are hugely interdependent! A moderate risk in one area can quickly lead to crises in others, causing a breakdown of the entire system. Modest tipping points can combine to produce large failures triggering a chain of other losses. (See Chapter 5 of my book, Change Within, Change the World)

The environmental tipping point, while not as immediately disruptive as the coronavirus, may have already been passed, with immediately irreversible consequences such as polar ice cap melting and global warming. The tipping point may turn the Earth into a different planet from the one we’re familiar with.
We still have time to decide what will need to change in order to deal with these worldwide tipping points. New, more integrated thinking is needed to deal with a changing world. For more information on Values Levels and a new evolution in consciousness, (See Chapter 3 of my book, Change Within, Change the World), on the complexification and sophistication of values as they spiral up to Tier 2. Here human nature and culture as we know it is replaced with all-embracing world culture and deep harmony. Sounds like sci-fi? Or like things going viral? Tipping Point: The Coronavirus Pandemic
